Sept. 14 at noon, to promote boating safety, Flotilla 14-07 conducts Vessel Safety Checks (VSC) every second Sunday of the month at the Vilano boat ramp. There is no charge for the safety check and it takes 15 to 20 minutes. The VSC is a complimentary check of your boat conducted by members of the auxiliary, confirming that it meets both federal and state requirements for safety. No citations are issued and the results of the safety check are not reported to any enforcement agency. A decal is awarded to display if the vessel has passed the examination. The St. Augustine North MOMS Club, a club for stay-at-home moms in the 210 and World Golf Village areas (32092 and 32259 zip code), is welcoming new members and could be your answer! We meet once a month to plan our activities for the month ahead, and our meetings and activities are during the day, when at-home mothers need support most. Of course, children are welcome at all of our meetings and activities. Some of the activities we have planned are trips to the zoo, beach /pool days, story time at the library, and playgroups at local parks. We also have activity groups for moms such as: scrap-booking, babysitting co-op, fitness club, MOMS night out, eco-moms, and book club. The MOMS Club is a wonderful way for you to meet other stay-at-home moms and is a fun way for your children to socialize with others.
