Another kind of lost and found...One of my hobbies happens to be metal detecting, and I am always looking for new places to search. After helping a co-worker look for an earring, I though that perhaps there are many out there who have lost metal items in their yard or a specific area where they are sure of the loss, but could not pick it up with their eyes, due to grass, weeds, or sand. To help introduce people to this hobby and to possibly get a local club up and running, I am offering to help local residents find their valuables. If the loss occured on their own property, all I ask is to keep any articles or change I find that is not the item being searched for, no fee. If I search the whole yard and don't find anything, I will have had a fun day and you would have learned a bit about metal detecting. (I am skilled, but no expert, there are others who do this every day, for hours) If the place you'd like me to search is not your own yard, we can negotiate a fair fee depending on distance, if you'd like to keep any additional finds, etc. I can also just teach people about the different types of metal detectors out there, and teach them how to use them. Just to be clear, metal detectors DO NOT dig up yards and leave large holes! Some ignorant useres may do so, but I cut the sod in a way so it is still attached to the root systems, collect dirt on a piece of plastic, and refill the hole and replace the sod when I'm done. You will never know I was there. Trust me, the 'dillos and squirrels do a heck of a lot more damage than I ever would! So if anyone's interested in finding a lost item or learning a fun and potentially profitable hobby, e-mail me, Justin, at jjones474@yahoo.com I'd love to help someone out or start up a club. |
