Cultural Council taps northwest for ideas on the arts

There’s an underground society living behind the Publix on County Road 210.

Some of these St. Johns County residents have lived in earthen homes more than 30 feet long, as deep as 15 feet below the surface, and for as long as 80 years. And like many of the county’s long-term residents, they’re probably not big fans of development, either.

women’s golf week at world golf village
Participate in Women’s Golf Week, a national golf industry initiative, at the Slammer & Squire and the King & Bear golf courses at World Golf Village. Throughout the week, women ages 14 and up can enjoy playing 18 holes of golf on either course for  $40. In addition, Slammer & Squire will host two free clinics from PGA Tour Golf Academy instructors at its driving range. The clinics will take place June 2 and June 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Greens fees for women 14 and older for the week will  cost $40 per person. Saturday golf clinics are free. The World Golf Village is located off I-95 at Exit 323 in St. Augustine. For more information, call 904.940.6088 or visit www.womensgolfweek.com.english.
