St. Johns man gives up Julington Creek home as part of porn sentence
A Julington Creek Plantation man has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography by computer. He also has to forfeit his home and pay restitution. Investigators raided the home of Darrell Mark Krause last year and seized his computer and three external hard disk drives that contained 17,100 digital photos and 1,400 videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. U.S. District Judge Henry Lee Adams Jr. this week sentenced Krause, 42, to the prison term to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Krause was ordered to pay $3,220 in restitution to one of his victims depicted in his pornographic images. He also agreed to forfeit his St. Johns County home at 292 Maplewood Drive to the federal government because he used it to commit the offense. Hunting the elusive apostrophe
We need your help. This week we are hunting the elusive apostrophe — you know, the one at the end of St. John's. Oh, that's right, there isn't one. Ever wonder why not? For the next issue of My St. Johns Sun, we'll be focusing on the missing apostrophe, examples of it cropping up in places where perhaps it shouldn't, and the reasons why it is no longer part of the official names of either the river or the county. If you know any amusing antecdotes about the apostrophe, or are versed in its history, please share them with us. If you or someone you know is a member of the grammar police and think the apostrophe needs to return, we'd love to hear from you.
